About me

Hello! I’m Bob van Ooik an exper­i­enced Dutch graphic designer & pho­to­grapher who works inter­na­tion­ally. On this web­site I show some of my work and some more per­sonal visual notes.

Since 1997 when I had my first big job as a graphic designer, mak­ing inform­at­ive maps for the Mas­ter­plan for the future growth of Schiphol, I lived and breathed graphic design. My love for street pho­to­graphy and report­age, stim­u­lated by my grand­father early in my life, led to the entry into the world of pro­fes­sional pho­to­graphy in 2004. Since 2006 I am work­ing together with the tal­en­ted Rus­sian designer and pho­to­grapher (and former pro­fes­sional world-class ball­room dan­cer) Olga Vasilkova in V-studio where we now offer 3 ser­vices. Pho­to­graphy, Graphic Design & Dance Fash­ion. My main philo­sophy is “less is more but keep it beau­ti­ful!”. In my design work user friend­li­ness and typo­graphy are two of the most import­ant subjects.

My main focus within V-studio is graphic design and pho­to­graphy (Olga mainly focuses on pho­to­graphy and Dance Fash­ion). Rates:
Hourly rates start at € 65,– till € 120,– depend­ing on the kind of work. But I like to work on a pro­ject basis, with a fixed price too. I don’t charge for hours that I’m walk­ing in the park think­ing though, only charge those hours that I am really work­ing on your project!
