Here are a few photos from our beauty shooting at the ocean. We took the chance to shoot this with Carl's new Sigma SD15 camera and the wonderful 50-500 OS lens. In combination with the Elinchrom Ranger Quadra portable flash system we got really nice results. We had a lot of fun photographing Carl and Linn, they make a great couple

After years of spending the sundays in the dance school we are now finally able to do "normal" family like things on a sunday. The weather was wonderful on the most recent one so we packed our swimming gear and headed out to the nearest lake. Anastasia called a friend and so we spend the afternoon "in the water". What did not change is of course taking the camera wherever we go. In this case we took the Sigma SD14, still our first choice when light permits, and the 18-200OS to snap around. Here a few "in the water" of mostly Anastasia. She's growing up beautifully, isn't she?

PS. Yes we did get a little bit of sun burn

In January, just before the Fluid Females series, we did another series for Peter van Recum to be submitted to the category Men of the Schwarzkopf German Hairdressing Awards. In the name of art he changed Patrick in one day from slick to raw, it was quite a long day.

What we are showing here is not the submission but alternate versions of the series though. In these versions we used a second shot from our immense archives to serve as a background in order to create 4 different moods.

For this shooting we also used the Sigma SD14 with the new 50mm f1.4. The foveon sensor brings a unique edge to the shots and the bokeh of the 50mm is really exceptional. This combination gave us really nice files to work with.

Finally! Yes finally we can show you the results of a shooting we did last February. It was a shooting we did for Peter van Recum for his submission to the Schwarzkopf German Hairdressing Awards. The bad news is that we didn't get a nomination this year (last year we did). But that doesn't make us less proud of the results. We had a bold idea for this series with clothing made out of liquids; water, milk, coffee and wine. And of course a fitting type of model to each of those liquids. So we found Annika, Maria, Tamara and Suki as willing victims for our crazy ideas. Not an easy job for them as they had to hold the same position for a long time while we splashed the liquids onto them. Especially Annika had to withstand a lot as we needed 3 sessions to get the water, ice cold water, right. But the girls did an amazing job.

As camera we used a Sigma SD14 with the new 50mm f1.4. It gave us really nice files to work with. The foveon sensor does bring a unique edge to the files, we love it.

Thanks girls! And Peter, next year we will try even harder and hopefully we'll get another nomination.

A few days ago Carl Rytterfalk asked me to show him how I deal with RAW files in Adobe Camera RAW. Using a very cool feature of iChat I took over his screen, feels very science fiction, and showed him my workflow. After I explained a thing or two he told me he recorded it and asked if it was OK to publish that. No problem, but I only hope that next time he will warn me from the beginning so I can put on my sexy voice I so hate to hear myself.

Today I got the chance to stroll around town with the new Sigma DP2. Unfortunately the weather was not so great, the light was extremely boring and my time was limited so not much spectacular stuff. The DP2 turned out to be clearly faster than the DP1, the colors are superb and I love this FOV. It looks like the files are pretty free of noise! Oh and yes, the lens is incredible! I think it is the sharpest I have ever seen

The weather looks to get much better in the coming days so hopefully I can give you much more interesting stuff in the next couple of days!

We had an assignment in München on Thursday. Drove 800 km to shoot one stand at Electronica 2008. We will post a few shots later.

When we came home dead tired a huge box was waiting for us. Inside of the box there was EX 50 1,4 aaaaaaaaaand my dream lens EX 120-300 2,8. Tiredness disappeared immediately. I couldn't resist testing them. Lucky us having a studio, he he he. Both lenses are amazing! So sharp and with soooo great and smooth bokeh. I can not wait trying them both a bit more. May be later today.

Every 2 year there is Photokina in Cologne, Germany. So I meet Carl Rytterfalk only every 2 years. We always try to meet in between but somehow we never managed. And this year it looked like we would not be able to meet at all. Carl was not planning to go to Photokina and we only managed to squeeze in a one day visit in our busy schedule. But in a last minute action he still decided to come over for Photokina and we invited him to stay the night here. The visit was of course way too short. But it was a very nice evening and breakfast. Hopefully we can persuade Carl and Linn to come over for one of the workshops we are planning (didn't I tell you that yet? well, more about that later). Because photokina 2010 is way too far off!
