Tomorrow the German Championships will start in Mannheim. So as we speak the last work is done on the outfits for the dancers. I can confidently say that Olga’s couples will look smashing there. And she has a lot of couples there on the floor with chances. Let’s hope they will bring something nice home!

In the picture you see Olga finishing a necklace for Maria Schulle’s dress. Maria and Peter were German champions last year and they have a good chance to defend their title this year. In the background you see Susie working, our big help that again stayed with us through the night. Big kiss for that! Oh and Susie, your dress looks absolutely stunning, will cross my fingers for you this weekend.

All move aside! German championships are coming up this weekend. So it is definitely high tide here. A lot of dresses and men outfits are in production and need to be finished before the weekend of course. Although the planning was not too bad this year it somehow is all getting tight of course again. Thankfully we have two lovely girls who come to help us when they can. Especially will miss having Susie around after the championships, she is here almost everyday. She is working on her own dress but also does a lot for other dresses. So a few more days and then we may have time again for other things, till then

A few days ago Carl Rytterfalk asked me to show him how I deal with RAW files in Adobe Camera RAW. Using a very cool feature of iChat I took over his screen, feels very science fiction, and showed him my workflow. After I explained a thing or two he told me he recorded it and asked if it was OK to publish that. No problem, but I only hope that next time he will warn me from the beginning so I can put on my sexy voice I so hate to hear myself.

Yesterday was a pretty eventful day. Saturdays are suppose to be weekend days and not so much working days, right? But being a designer and photographer such things turn out to be totally different. The day started out very bad. My iMac crashed in the morning and it was not working at all anymore Thanks to the back-ups I was up and running again by the end of the day. While the new machine was working hard mimicking itself as the old one (great Mac feature), I shot an event in Tanzwelt Movement. Volker Rosin, a well known German (kids) entertainer was giving a performance there. It was great to see how one person can hold the attention of a bunch of kids for an hour with just a singing and clapping. When I came back the iMac was not yet finished setting up but I had to present logos for a new restaurant Fortunately they are Italian, easy going and as restaurant owners working late. So it was not a problem to reschedule the appointment to the end of the evening. Finally at 10:30 in the evening I was presenting them the logos. I can’t remember ever doing that so late! And they liked what they saw! As a matter of fact they even choose one without any alterations (yes this does not happen often). For now I can’t say or show much more as the restaurant will open in September and they are not yet public with it. But I wanted to share the logo because we are pretty proud of it! When we can, we will show more of course!

Recently we had a very nice shooting with my new ballroom couple. Suki and Andreas dance together for only a few months but they developed a very good and successful partnership. Last weekend they danced their 2nd competition and got silver medals (I still think they deserved gold on that day). The guys wanted a small shooting in their dance outfits. Here is what we’ve got from the day. It was a very nice shooting and we all had tons of fun.
